It's been a pretty good weekend. Saturday spent the day with the family, both parents and sisters(mostly at different times). The boy got tired of hanging out at my sisters house so he decided to walk home(my mother later picked him up). I guess he's turning into the typical teenager. He did go running in the back woods at my Mom's house while we were moving furniture. I think he liked that. Helping sister put up pictures and etc in her new townhouse. She's so excited to get it, I'm glad for her. It's new and I think that fits her better because she's so particular. Interesting to realize how insecure she is, as she spoke of being unsure of how to place the pictures on the wall and being afraid that she'd be mad later if she didn't do it just right, therefore it was easier for the group to convince her to put the pictures in vertical versus horizontal arrangements.

Sunday was hanging around, coffee with friends and then off to R's house. We were going to try to make it to the drive in and the boy was wanting to come too! Yippee (okay, only sometimes is he a teenager!). Turns out that the drive in ran out of spots probably 2 dozen cars ahead of us. We contemplated what to do for fun with the boy before we decided to go back to R's for a movie. The boy picked it out, "American Treasure" which I was happy about because he often watches movies with his Dad that are much more than I would have him watch. This was rated PG and enjoyable. The other thing that R and I decided to do was a random act of kindness, unfortunately it involved McDonalds(mostly because it was one of the few things open on Sunday night). We pulled into the drive in and waited for another car to come up behind us, and drove up to the window and bought the food for the car behind us. It was hilarious because the McDonald people didn't really get it but thought it was cool after much explanation. We got home quite late, the boy slept in the car on the way home and for about an hour in the car before I finally got him to come in. I read a little and didn't go to bed until 5am.

Memorial day isn't a big deal to me, but I did mention to my sister about 50% off at our favorite thrift shop. Considering the hour that I went to bed, I didn't think I'd want to go but after she called and woke me up at 9am, I finally got up for our trip. First store I found a few tops (and this really cool straightback metal chair that is about 6 inches tall, FUN) and ran into a friend of mine from high school, she was there with her sister. Sister had a few things to return and then went to the other thrift shop, where I picked up a juicer and some books. I also ran into M, whom I met about 6 months ago. After mentioning to K, that I thought she was cute, ever social K, started talking to her. We did invite her to Lee's for dancing and then to Ihop for breakfast, she went dancing with us but we lost her before Ihop. I wasn't sure it was her, but she recognized me and we chatted briefly. I did give her my number, who knows if she'll call. Apparently, she's been busy working on her Masters in Education. I was able to meet her daughter. Who knows if she'll call...but I did put myself out there just the tiniest bit. A few more errands and I'm home again...I've got to start the mounds of laundry, apply for another job and prepare for my interview for tomorrow. I'm hoping to go to bed by 8pm or so. I've got a couple of movies to watch and I'd also like to ride my bike if I've got the energy. It would be a beautiful day for a motorcycle ride!

What did you do on this wonderful extended weekend?

Where? When? Hopefully we'll have some more consistent warmer weather for your long overdue ride. I mostly worked this weekend. Hence missing call re: drive in. Although I'm glad since I would have freaked when sold out. =I And now to sleeep!

Why would you have freaked out? We had just as much fun! I could do just about anything with R and have fun.

Next weekend I'm camping but perhaps the weekend after that.
