My former brother in law is sitting in the County Jail for molesting his step-daughter and her cousin. T says this has been under investigation for some time and they finally arrested him recently. He says it will likely be in the local paper.

Selfish as it sounds, I'm angry because my last name will be in the paper associated with a child molester! I also feel horrible for C. We are in a small town and if his name is in the paper, people will read it and may associate them with me. Let me give you more details....

About 8 years or so ago, SB who is Sf's(ex-Bro-in law) half sister remembered and confronted Sf on being messed with by him when she was aprox 5 and he was aprox 14. He denied it happen and got support from his girlfriend at the time, K who said that it was no big deal because her brothers did that to her when she was a kid. (Essentially, Sf got validation that he was "normal")

When Sf was aprox 22 and SB was 14, he would "date" her friends.

Sf eventually married a woman named K. K had been molested by her mother's boyfriend (when she was 12 or older) but when K revealed it, her mother stood by her boyfriend ! K married and had 2 children but gave full custody of her son to her ex-husband to ensure she would have full custody of her daughter. And taught her to not undress in front of males even if they were 3 years old. She also taught her to wear shorts under her nightgown...which I thought was terrible...teach her that if it were to happen to her that it would be her fault because she didn't take the right precautions. As I understand that a high rate of children born to people who have been molested often are molested themselves.

This daughter is C who is aprox 13 or 14. And according to T is having sex, drinking and probably drugs and etc.

When C told her mom about Sf, guess who she stood by? Sf !!! AARRGGHHH !!! I'm so glad that I'm not part of that family anymore.

Sf and T's Mom, called up the family of C's cousin and said "I hope you're happy, now you've ruined Sf's life!"

Lord help us all!!!

Thanks, It wasn't in this week's paper but I did run into an old friend from my youth and she's a deputy Sheriff and thought his name was familiar. She said I could probably call up the jail and confirm. It's almost like I don't want to know. It sure gives me an opportunity to take some time for gratitude for all that my son and I have and especially haven't had to deal with.
