remember when I mentioned that I got pulled over on Saturd...er..Sunday morning? yeah we had noticed a number of folks pulled over. My driving record is completely clean, I've got a speeding ticket from when I was 18 which is almost 20 years ago but nothing really since but a handful of PAID parking tickets.

Last night P got pulled over for "swerving all over the road". She wasn't, she's an excellent driver. They of course ask her what she's doing in this area when her license says she's an hour from home. She's driving to work from a "friend"'s house. They didn't give her a ticket or anything but a warning.

My guess is that there is some kind of spring fever campaign through the local authorities to try and pull lots of folks over. Thankfully, we both got warnings.

That is messed up! Have they ever done one of those things in your area where they stop every car... and have everyone wait like in a parking lot.. so they can check drivers licenses, insurance cards, etc. They searching many cars... I was in a car a year ago January and it happened. It was very freaky! Every freakin car on all the main streets in town.

I've heard about those kinds of mass stops but I've never been fortunate to be a participant! With my luck, that would happen when I'm running late for something important...wait a minute, I'm often running late. Good reminder to try and stay on track!

Ooh, that happened to my friends and I when we were driving to Florida one year. There were four of us and only one of us was a licenced driver - he happened to be the one driving when we came upon the roadblock. It was scary! If it had been one of the other three of us, we would have had to do an in-car seat switch...in a 2-door subcompact. Eek!

Did both of the traffic stops happen at about the same place? Maybe there's a really vigilant group of officers in one area of the highway.

Yikes, or you could turn around like that NW airline pilot in the rented hummer...did you hear about that? Yeah, he was carrying coke! When it was acting so irratic, they chased him down and arrested him.

They didn't happen at the same place. I couldn't tell you about P's on hwy 55 (but it's always a sketchy hwy in the area, where you often get pulled over).

Mine of course was after 1am...classic bar time.

They take so much time when they do these.. no matter what you would be late. I think it took 45 min. It was after the super bowl. It was very scary. I felt as if I was in a police state or something.. The driver got a ticket for insurance. Sucks!

Yeah... I know that. And I do not even drive. *grins* She was tired and not really into the mood of wanting to drive me but since there was no one else to.. she did. She was not a happy camper, to say the least.
