Are you into astrology much? I used to not be because I'm a Capricorn and I never seemed to match things people said about Caps. Then I read "All You Ever Needed to Know about Astrology" (this big blueish book - older versions are purple) - sounds hokey, but it's actually a pretty good book. And after reading about how all the other planets work into your chart to change things, I was stunned by how right-on everything was about my personality. Fun. :)
Heh -- this quiz said I'm 53% Capricorn. I'm second house, which kind of negates the whole "Capricorns are business oriented" thing. I suck at business and money and am lazy about that. And I don't do the status thing. Bah. I think that turns people off of astrology - the fact that most folks don't realize that a lot more goes into it than just your sun sign, so they think it's all a bunch of hooey. Annyhoo... :D

I'm curious about lots of things but also kinda skeptical. I don't think I fit a traditional cancer...emotional and moody...but perhaps my experiences in life have affected my outlook. Yeah, I admit I'm a little jaded.
Funny about the book, I just ordered it used through amazon. I should get it in the next week or so! I also had my chart done and I'm a "intercepted" chart which means that I've got 2 signs in one house and nothing in another one. That explains why I'm so off centered ! GRIN
I handle money very well, I'm very conservative about it, not because I'm materialistic but because it represents security and choice to me. It might be different if I wasn't responsible for another life(my son) but this is how it is for me. Although, I must admit that I've been thinking about why I need to have a house and etc for him. How would my life be different if I didn't feel the need to be so financially secure?
actually, --and yes, this gets even weirder -- I found the top half of your post... mixed in with someone else's post halfway down my friends page. I guess LJ is just being wonky this evening.
