Maybe the Prop 8 folks will realize that the gay couple down the street getting married doesn't mean the world will cave in.
My ex-MIL told me that if we allowed gay marriage, G-d would condemn us (I was certainly not out to her). I replied "How can you presume to know what G-d thinks?" That shut her up.
