We left MN around 8am and drove non-stop (except for lunch at the Norsk Nook in Osseo, WI) and made Chicago slightly after 7pm. The last 50 miles was almost literally stop and go traffic. Thankfully P drove that part and I mostly listened to Alice Sebold "The Almost Moon" I think I'm half way through. It probably wasn't the best choice for today's drive, a little too dark.
2 years ago during the summer, the four of us P, her son R(yeah the one that's gone) my son and me went to Wisconsin Dells. Driving by there was really hard for me, thankfully P and A were sleeping so they didn't see me bawling. I had to stop crying because the roads weren't that great and I had some precious cargo.

Date: 2008-12-21 04:02 pm (UTC)Enjoy! I hope you do not freeze here. It is freakin cold today!
Alice Seabold writes about disturbing topics. I read Lovely Bones and Lucky. (Lucky is exceptionally disturbing topic: rape)
I am glad that you made it here safe and sound! I hope you enjoy the city!
