Why I became a librarian

I always tell people I became a librarian because I didn't think that social security would be around when it was my time to retire. I wanted a job I could do until I was 85 years old. I just hope I'm not like this woman who has worked as a librarian for 82 years, she's 102.

Yep, career change started with part time grad school in 2001 (finished 1/05)and finally accomplished the perm job in 2008, it was a long road.

At that age I would not know what else I would want to do.. LOL I think that it is great that she is still alive and able to work. I applaud her. To be honest I would love to be able to do what she is doing right now. *grins*
