Damn! It looks like you travel a bit more than me but it sure looks like you do not like one section of the country... LOl I need to travel more!

Well, perhaps it's because lack of exposure. Most of the traveling was done when I was a kid with my family.

Oh, most of mine travels were as an adult. I did over-lap some of the states that I had traveled to as a child but I have been traveling more as an adult. I have 5 siblings it is quite hard to get that large of a family on a family trip. Most all traveling was done when the three oldest kids were able to stay home by themselves. LOL

growing up, my mom didn't work and my dad took a month off during the summer to travel (me and my 2 sisters) via camping mostly out west. As an adult, primarily a single parent, I haven't had the money or the courage(just me and my boy) to travel much.

Yeah, I getcha on the money issue. I mostly travel to festivals and go as a worker but I could never take PJ with me. I was not a full-time Mom. He did not live with me after he turned 2 years old. I got very sick then and stayed that way for 8 years. I have not been able to take care of anyone especially myself for that long. I just re-took the test and put in all the states that I have been through. And together we have basically got the continental US covered! All but 3-4 states. We did duplicate some states but not all that many.. LOL
I think you and your son should go camping. Not too far from where you live. A close camping ground. I think you have very fond memories of camping with your family. Camping fees are not that expensive. Just a weekend thing this summer. I think you both will like it!

I did take him camping when he was younger locally. Even took him to Florida and then later a train trip to Glacier National Park and on to Seattle before going home. Now that I finished school and have a little more time he's now at the age (14) where he doesn't really want to be with mom. Although we are planning 2 weeks out west this summer. I just wish I could take my boy all around the country and outside the country too.

He may balk but he will enjoy it. Been there done that... LOL PJ is 21 years old.
The trips you took him on sound wonderful!
Yeah, I wish I could do that with PJ as well. Heck, I would just love to do that in general! I would go with you! LOL

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he'll enjoy it. I'm excited too but the gas prices aren't so fun! You'd be welcome to come with...but our plan is to let the boy call all the shots as far as what we're going to do each day (except for July 4 and July 6 as that's P's birthday and my birthday). I don't know if he'd be too happy to have another woman come with...maybe if you were another 14 year old boy with his interests. GRIN

Gas prices are very high I hear. I do not drive and never have. I do not think about those things very often. Ooops! I was just joking about coming along. It is a time for you to spend time with your son. I wanted to travel the country and see other countries with you. LOL Dreams and fantasies! I know he would not be too happy about another womon along but if it comes to video games/gameboy games I am so there! I have lots of the same interests as many of my son's friends. Not sports tho. Good thing PJ and his friends have never been into them. LOL PJ and I share lots of the same interests. We have since I was able to share them with him. I finally got better when he was about 10 years old.

I bet you were very happy to recover and get to know him better. My sweetie shares a lot of the same interests with my boy.

Yes, I was very happy to be better. I did not know I was as sick as I was. I wanted to get to know him so bad. I really did not know him at all!

It was bad.. a doctors mistake too. The doctor is no longer able to see patients and I am happy about that! I was on meds that I should not have been on and they had serious side effects. After 7 years another doctor took me off them and, "Whalla! I got better!"

Good lord! I know that I've learned that just like any profession, there are a few really good, a lot of average and a few really bad Doctors. I just hope that I end up with mostly average or good ones!

I do not trust very many..
Red flags will go up and I will run for the hills. I have not found too many good doctors. I always have my guard up. I do all my own research and do not even complain about something unless I know what it is, what the treatments are... I do not trust an MD as far as I can throw them!

I had a doctor who didn't know that nursing mothers don't always get their periods back right away after pregnancy. My son didn't wean until 15 months or so, so I didn't have my period for almost a year. The 6 months of abdomonal pains (worse than childbirth) I had were from my gall bladder (later removed after being correctly diagnoised). It's very common for heavy women who have just giving birth to have gall bladder trouble. Stupid doctor!

That should be one of the basics in medical school. But, they medical staff really do not know shit about nutrition. I had a bone density test done. On the questionnaire they only asked about cows milk and cheese. No other forms of calcium. If I wanted to I would have had taught her basic nutrition and how a cow gets the calcium and how many more foods have calcium and many of them have way more than cows milk. She thought that one could only do dairy or take a supplement. I do take a supplement but I also eat calcium rich foods as well ask goats milk, soy milk and rice milk.
