zestfiveIt seems that I only update my blog after the weekend.
Friday was pretty quiet. P and I watched a movie on her laptop (TV's are not functional upstairs) on the new sectional. We had 2 bags of popcorn, stayed up quite late.
Saturday I did dishes (stupid dishwasher is not working) it was like 4-5 loads! I also worked on laundry and cleaning my office. P and I had some hard times. She doesn't feel well recovering from her surgery, she's cranky and I try to be patient but it doesn't always work. We're still working on developing good communication strategies. I did also run to Target to pay a bill, pick up a new pillow, napkins (FINALLY) and iccee. We had more communication and ended with another movie on the laptop.
Sunday we were bound and determined to make it to church on time. I set the alarm clock correctly (actually I was over zealous because I also set the 2nd one which woke me up 45 minutes before we needed to get up). P didn't sleep well, had nightmares and she woke me up screaming a couple of times. After I woke up early (from the first alarm) I took a shower, had breakfast and got dressed. P was having a hard time waking up and when I spoke with her, she said she was done with relationships, and ex-'s. This concerned me but I felt she had a right to make up her mind. I was upset and asked her if she wanted to go to church. After numerous nudging, she finally got up and was getting ready about 8 minutes before we needed to go. I helped her find clothes and etc. She had also talked about going to visit her Aunt for Easter. In the car she inquired on why I wasn't really present and I explained about her comments. Apparently, in the past, she has also talked when she wasn't fully awake and said things like this before. She said she didn't mean it and wants to continue our relationship. I asked her if maybe she really did feel that way but couldn't say it. She said it wasn't true and then proceeded to tell me about doing it in the past. This was just part of why it wasn't such a good weekend. We did make it to church and even on time. Afterwards we hung out in the city house for a bit before going to her Aunts. I wasn't sure if she had wanted me to go and even offered to stay in the car or whatever, but we went. I met her Mom and Dad, Aunt and various cousins and 2nd cousins. It all seemed to go well. Although, as I was leaving I noticed that the Aunt's minivan had one of those "protect marriage" bumper stickers on it. UGH. I wanted to stop to pick up something for A's Easter (his Dad didn't do a thing for him ~ despite it being his "favorite" holiday). Headphones and a big toblerone. A few things for P and home finally. Emptying the car, getting P to stop moving so much (as she was in pain), dishes, dinner and finally in bed.
Today I finally scanned in our pic from New Year's. I've got to fix it with photoshop before I post it. Perhaps I'll post the cropped pic of P.
Tonight we're going to KFC for the buffet. I want to call a woman in the neighborhood who dropped by a message, she's family too! I also want to move the sectional in my living room and bake cupcakes for A's birthday.
I've got to work at reading a couple of books that I'm reviewing for a newsletter. They want it by May.
