vacation

I'm not feeling too productive today. I want to plan our vacation but I don't have enough information to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions with regards to our 2 week trip in July to the Grand Canyon ? We're leaving Minnesota by car and doing some camping some moteling and hope to also do whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hot springing and ? Suggestions for cost cutting? It's probably going to cost us at least $1000 for vehicle rental and gas. We're going to pack a cooler for cheaper meals and etc. We've got some money saved but we're going to have save more to do some of the fun stuff. 

Did you see the season finale of the L word? What did you think? 

On a related note, driving home from the L word at J's house, I had this weird sense of dread or fear. I couldn't really explain it, couldn't tell you the origins of it but it was weird. I don't know if it orginated in the conversation about money and etc that P and I had. For the most part, I feel like I'm sitting okay. I've got money in the bank and even though I won't be working for 2 months, the 2nd summer session I will be working should make up for the wages I won't be earning. I think I'll be able to save about 75% of my annual income by the end of May when spring semester is over. Fall semester should allow me to save the remaining 25% if not more. Of course, the car might die in the next 2-3 years (just turned over 150k). What if I don't get another job? Actually I'm thinking that they're not going to figure out the re-org and hire the positions for Spring 07 so I'm hoping my contract will be extended to then.

I don't want to work today but I should...okay, I'll get back to work.

My one suggestion - prepare for heat. Arizona in July is going to be hot, hot, hot!

Have you already made lodging/camping reservations? Both my sister and a coworker told me that it's next to impossible to stay close to the park (much less in the park) during the summer.

ALL conversations about money leave me with a sense of dread...

yeah, I'm not expecting that we'll be able to get *that* close. It's much more serindipitous but we do want to make reservations for the whitewater rafting.
