Yesterday I had my sectional delivered, it went well despite the fact that it had snowed the night before. I was out shoveling when they pulled up and backed right into the driveway. They were on time and I didn't even need J's help in the event I had to leave before they got there. The oreos that I was going to reward J with, went to the delivery guys for their hard work (they shoveled a path to the front door).
This weekend is a GLBT film festival on Friday and Saturday night that I will be attending, hopefully both nights. Other things on the agenda include laundry, vacation planning-reservations and cleaning.
I left 15 minutes after they left for my tax appointment. I'm getting money back from federal but have to pay in to the state, regardless the balance to me is $400+ which will go into the vacation fund.
I also had a telephone interview for a local business college. The current librarian is leaving after today for another job. As it's very small, there is a large variety of duties which is nice. We'll see how it goes....
Also learned that I will likely have a long summer break from the end of Spring semester May 18 until I resume for summer session II July 17(right after our return from our vacation). That is 2 months that I won't be working but will have health insurance. I've got some savings and hope to also sub at my public library to bring in some income. I believe that I will be able to live within my income from the 5 weeks earned for summer session and resume saving money at fall semester. I think A and I will also be doing some fun and inexpensive things. This gives me time to finish books and book reviews, excercise (bike riding and walking) and thoroughly clean my house. A also wanted to participate in the Planned Parenthood "Reach one Teach One" program, this schedule might make it possible. Without working, I can decrease my gas usage (usually $40-60 a week)and do more home cooked from scratch meals. I'll have to pull out the tightwad gazette books. I know how to do "poor" real good. I'm going to love the flexibility. I hope I don't end up piddling it away and accomplish nothing.
