a day without P
Mar. 10th, 2006 06:53 pmNah, actually it's just a few hours.
Type your cut contents here. It's probably good for me since in a few short days we'll be back to our regular schedule. Today she had to go to a funeral for a high school classmate of hers, she passed away at 47 after many years of diabetes, she lost her eyesight, went through 2 kidney transplants and never got her dream of marriage and children. I think it hit P especially hard as she had intended to call her after Christmas but she never got to it. She had a late lunch with both her boys. This is a surprise because I expected her to lunch with R but didn't expect her to lunch with B. She mentioned that there's been some challenges with B but I know she loves him. I think that he's trying to figure out how to reconnect with her because otherwise he would have ignored me instead of coming up to me and saying "Hi" at work (he goes to school where I'm currently working). Their family seems to be a little afraid of talking so we'll see how this goes. I'm afraid that I probably talk too much but I also don't have the history that they do. So far, I like everyone in her family (all the boys and cats too).
While she was gone, I washed my car, renewed some library books, made a deposit at the bank, sent off a rebate for $50 from the washer, sent a reciept to N and K and applied for 2 jobs. I also balanced my checkbook and talked to a friend. Called in for my perscription for my skin which won't be ready until after Monday but I'm so glad not to have to squeeze out every little bit from what little I have left, I also tried to use my laptop at the coffee shop but I couldn't access their network and gave up after a while.
Tonight A has a brief band concert at school (weird for it to be on a Friday night) his Dad is attending which again is rare but perhaps he's doing it because he can get out of work (as long as he gets the program from it for proof). He called this morning too early when I was trying to sleep to ask about that...he should call the school or something like that instead of me! Of course, I end up being the one to take care of his stuff, I hate that. Anyway, he will be taking A afterwards instead of Saturday morning, this will be nice.
Saturday P and I don't have anything planned except maybe some more cleaning but I'm a little tired of so much running around. Although, I did find out that the Dean wants to extend my contract through Fall semester and also offered some summer hours. This is great because I can actually spend some money on trips and etc and not feel so worried about jobs. The three of us have talked about a trip to the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon. My sister has talked about taking A to California to surf which may mean a childfree trip for P and I that same time. I'm also thinking of finally purchasing a couch since the living room is a little bare.
So I just switched this to "rich text" now I can do all the "fancy" stuff without worry about html. It seems so much easier, why didn't I do this before?
EDIT: hmm...don't know why there is so many lj cuts, anyone?
