Soapy water will kill them on contact, but won't do anything to kill the ones you can't see. Unfortunately (according to several sites I just found on a search) it looks like there's not much you can do once they're there except kill the ones you see.
Inside the house, they recommend vacuuming them up as splatting them can stain the wall.
guh, let me know if you find out. We've had them in our basement for the last month or so...they keep falling into the washing machine somehow and getting mixed up with our clothes. Yuck! And now we find them upstairs.
One of our cats will eat them, the other one just bats them around. Both of them are kind of lazy so the hunt hasn't really been on.
I hate those things.
