What the Water Gave Me by Frida Kahlo

What the Water Gave Me by Frida Kahlo

"I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought, there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you."

I don't like her paintings but she was a really interesting person.

Absolutely LOVE the painting and the words which go with it!! Even an old fuddy-duddy like my decrepitating self can relate to feeling strange and out-of-bounds no matter where I am in the world. I have never had the sort of talents which set me apart from everyone else, but most of my life I've had this feeling that I didn't really belong anywhere.
