This post just got recovered, I think I posted it on Tuesday

Where I currently work, there has been 5 fixed term folks and it appears that only one of them will be hired on a "permanent" basis. That's pretty sad....

I did get my new office/keys today. It has a window. I like keeping the lights off and just using the natural light. Although, it's dreary today.

I'm tired, my sleep schedule is still messed up.

I can't wait to get home and fall asleep although that will keep my sleep schedule messed up.

Next year, I hope to provide P with a Happy 50th birthday vacation and of course the choice is up to her where she wants to go but I've come up with a few ideas. Let me know what you think!

To give you a little more information about her this is what she's like: She has traveled a fair amount but not everywhere(like never been to DC before). She went backpacking two years ago in the mountains and LOVED it but now her health would probably make it unrealistic. She's not much for crowds. We've talked about Australia, Disney and Alaskan Cruise and I think she'd be interested in all of those...but she's still thinking

Banff/Lake Louise in Canada? I've never been there, but it sounds more remote and wild.

If she's not much for crowds or heat, anything Disney is out (despite being lots of fun!)

Yeah, I am a little surprised that she wants to do that because of the crowds, but it was her suggestion!

I leave the lights off in my office and just use the window light too. Just something nice about the natural light.

It's so nice of you to take P away for her bday. I think the Alaska cruise idea sounds best. You get to keep all of your stuff in one place, but still get to see everything. I've heard Australia (OZ) is awesome. Have you considered New Zealand? I've heard it's like OZ, but more laid back and outdoorsy (sheep outnumber people 4 to 1).

Sounds wonderful, whatever you decide.

yeah, I'm already trying to find something to look forward to...things just seem sorta...I don't know, I think I'm a little down.

I am glad that at least you have a job... I know that was a concern of yours.
I was wondering when it was time for yoiu to focus on yourself. I mean you do spend so much energy trying to make things good for everyone. How much time do you actually spend thinking about yourself and making your life better. Just you... not in relation to anyone else.

Yeah, you're probably right but I don't know that I know how to do that very well.

Suggestions?

There are many ways.. One is to start a date night. Treat yourself like you would treat P. Have a nice meal, movies etc.
If you do not have a night to devote to yourself. Just get a manicure... it does not have to be fancy. I have brother in-laws who get manicures and pedicures. It is all about the special treatment.
Take a nice bath... play some music. It could be something small just for you. Even going for a walk.. anything to treat yourself good. To make yourself feel special...
