I had a really nice weekend despite the rain. When I got home from work on Friday, P was suppose to pack so we could go when I got home. She had woken up but she fell back to sleep. After we finally got packed, I thought she should go to our brand new minute clinic. She'd be having a sore throat for the last 4 days. Sure enough, she had strep. The woman running the clinic was great and she even did me free! P was convinced that the woman knew about us, frankly I didn't care it was great.

We went to bed pretty early on Friday night after putting up the tent in the dark, hanging out at the fire. I woke up pretty early just about 9am wheras the sick girl didn't wake up until after 1pm. Although, I do admit I ended up taking a 4 hour nap Saturday afternoon. P did crafts with the kids Saturday night, they did an amazing job of sitting and working on the claydough. We went to bed. It rained and I had to run to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I drove the car.

Sunday I went to church, I'm glad I did. It was solidarity Sunday, GLBT honoring....my ex T came out to church as ftm. Her coworker talked about her experience with her. They did REALLY well. They also had a woman who is a seminary student say a few things, she also played her guitar and sang some songs. Unfortunately or fortunately, she also sang " Be Thou My Vision" which was the song my cousins sang at my Dad's service. I had to step out bawling and my Dad's partner also came to church. I was really glad she came to know that she's not hiding away. She did say it was good for her to come.

I got back to the campground and then P and I took another brief nap in the heavy rain. We took down the tent and packed everything up. Everything was so wet.

I miss P already. Man, I got to go to sleep.

Whew! Camping in the rain with strep throat! That is what I call dedication. Is where you camp fairly close to where you live and go to church? Cause that must have be a long haul to get to and from church on Sunday and then pack up and drive all the way back home again. Sounds like it was great that you went to church, though.

BTW, how far away do you and P live from one another?

Also, why would you be closeted at the doctor's office? Or did it just not come up and P just thought she figured it out?

You must be pretty wiped out. I hope you have an easy week ahead of you.

Yeah, she's hardcore! GRIN Actually, that is one thing that I like about her, she doesn't do a whole lot of complaining about things, perhaps it's because she's so use to having so many health problems.

The campground is a local county place less than 20 miles from home. Getting to church from the campground was actually CLOSER than coming from home.

I live northwest of the metro area and P lives and works in the south east part of the metro area. It's about 75 minutes away. I also work about an hour further northwest from where I live. My job is temporary but I do own my house and I want my son to be able to complete high school in the same school district. Ideally, we'd like to move in together or at least get closer but this is how it is right now.

P's 11 years older than me and in my opinion, she's a whole lot more private than I am. I figured that I'd rather follow her lead at her appointment than out her without asking. I also live in a largely conservative and republican area. I don't hide it but with regards to my son, I do opt for his right to privacy. And if they don't know what the rainbow stickers on my car mean, it's their problem. GRIN
